Notice: Redondo Road & sub-road closure for sidewalk and road re-structuring

May 10, 2019 - PATS Admin

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) would like to inform the UNM community that due to sidewalk and road restructuring, several sections of roadway on the south end of main campus will be temporarily closed. The closures on specific road/roadways are as follows:

  • Monday, May 20 through Monday, June 3 – The roadway between Redondo and the Student Union Building (SUB) will be closed to all vehicle traffic. This work will require the temporary closure of the 3 ADA spaces located in this area; 2 will be temporary relocated in a nearby lot (see attached map). The sidewalk running along the west end of the Popejoy Hall building will remain open during most of this time. The closure will allow the curb-gutter to be reset and a new roadbed to be laid.
  • Monday, May 20 through Friday, June 7 – The right hand westbound lane on Redondo will be closed between the West end of Johnson Field and Stanford. The closure will allow the curb-gutter to be reset and the sidewalk in front of JCER to be laid.
  • Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, August 12 – Redondo will be closed to all vehicle traffic west of the entrance to the Cornell parking structure and Yale Blvd. The closure will allow the curb-gutter to be reset and a new roadbed to be laid.

In order to avoid unnecessary traffic congestion, the University community is requested to avoid the area if possible, and to please follow all detour and pedestrian traffic signs. To ensure everyone’s safety, please use caution when in the area and be mindful of the workers that are on-site.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Please call UNM PATS if you have any questions.

Thank you,
