Veggie Bus
The Veggie Bus artwork competition is now closed, but thanks for your interest. We're keeping this page just in case we need to resurrect it, you never know. But the important question is: how did you get here, anyway? The links are down, or at least I thought they were. OMG, you must have broken in! Look, just take what you want and leave, all right? Get back, get back I say! I have a gun! It's not loaded, but I know how to use it! Get back... Get back! AAARRGH!!
The Veggie Bus is a pilot program to convert a conventional diesel engine vehicle to run on refuse vegetable oil, solely recovered from the campus kitchens. This remarkable initiative, run in conjunction with the Sustainability Studies Program, will demonstrate the feasibility of a completely self-sufficient, on-campus transportation resource. The Veggie Bus will be independent of rising conventional fuel costs, while at the same time providing an optimum collection and disposal service of material that was hitherto considered waste.
Veggie Bus Artwork Competition
We want you to decorate the outside of the Veggie Bus! Unleash your imagination and blow us away with your originality! Think of this as your bus and decorate it any way you think that best promotes the Veggie Bus ethos -sustainabilty; environmentally-friendly- and the greater prestige of UNM as a whole.
This is a completely open brief -though we do stipulate that you incorporate the UNM PATS logo in some way, either as an integral feature of your design, or in isolation. The winning design will be transformed into a wrap and will remain on display for the life of the vehicle -in effect a unique, mobile, 3D art exhibit, used daily by hundreds and seen by thousands. It will make an impressive addition to anyone's portfolio.
You can submit your design by using our templates as guides, either in conventional drawing/image editing program file formats, or as a hard copy. Don't worry too much about absolute accuracy, we'll make sure your design fits around the bus neatly. Please see below to download template formats or if you need hard copies, please contact us or call in to see us. Hurry up though, the closing date for artwork submission is November 15, 2008.
