Veggie Bus coming to a bus stop near you, soon

It's been a long time coming, but we think it's been well worth the wait. The PATS Veggie Bus -UNM's first diesel/Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) hybrid- is finally ready to take to the streets.
With striking artwork designed by UNM student Crystal Wong, the Veggie Bus will be a distinctive sight around campus as it complements the rest of the PATS shuttle fleet.
The vehicle is powered by by WVO solely harvested from UNM kitchens, realising a practically free fuel source. Though initially in its trial period, the program will hopefully be expanded to include more shuttles of this type.
Veggie Bus will debut at this year's Welcome Back Days, beginning Monday, August 24.
