McKinnon-Anderson Construction to Impact Travel along Las Lomas

December 12, 2016 - PATS Admin

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) would like to inform customers and UNM community members that because of scheduled construction of the McKinnon-Anderson building travel along Las Lomas between Yale and Stanford will be impacted.

In preparation for the work on the new McKinnon Center for Management building (Anderson School of Management aka ASM), construction fencing is scheduled to go up on the morning of Thursday, December 15, 2016. Effective Thursday, Dec. 15th east-west travel along Las Lomas through this area will be reduced to single lane(s) and along the north side of Las Lomas. Between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th, flaggers will assist traffic in getting through the affected area. From 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on the 15th and 16th and all day on Saturday the 17th — depending on weather conditions — Las Lomas will be closed to all traffic between the construction site and the Stanford intersection: please plan your travel route accordingly.

The change in the Las Lomas roadway will necessitate the removal of the parking spaces along the north side of Las Lomas and subsequent re-striping of parking spaces along the south side of Las Lomas into a diagonal configuration (between the McKinnon construction site and Yale). The re-striping activity, which is weather-dependent, is scheduled to occur on Saturday, December 17th and will remain in place for the duration of the construction project which is projected to take approximately 14 months.

For C Reserved Permit Holders

During the construction and associated roadway work activity (e.g. restriping of center line on Las Lomas and affected parking spaces), Reserved permit holders (individual and departmental) will be able to park in the Yale parking structure in one of the regular permitted parking spaces located on levels 3 and above. Please remember that your Reserved parking permit must be displayed in your vehicle!
