Temporary Johnson Center Construction Fence Expansion 8/17 – 8/18

August 16, 2018 - PATS Admin

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) would like to inform the UNM community that work on the Johnson Center remodel project will require a temporary expansion of the construction area from Friday, Aug. 17th through Saturday, Aug. 18th.

Beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug 17th, the construction fencing in front of Johnson Center will be temporarily moved onto/into Redondo Road.  This construction zone expansion will result in the temporary closure of the sidewalk on the north side of Redondo, will require the westbound lane of Redondo to be moved south, and eastbound Redondo will be reduced to one lane.

The construction zone is being temporarily expanded so the domestic water source to Johnson Center can be addressed as part of the Johnson Center (JCER) remodel project.  Upon completion of the work, the fence will be moved back to its previous location, and the sidewalk and lanes on Redondo reopened for normal use.

UNM department of Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) is requesting the campus community to do its best to avoid the area if possible and please follow all detour and pedestrian traffic signs. To ensure everyone’s safety, please use caution when in the area and be mindful of the workers that are on-site.

Thank you,
