Updated Notice: Extended Closure of Tucker Avenue due to Construction 5.30 to 11.15.2023

September 1, 2023

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (UNM PATS) would like to provide you with an important update regarding the closure of Tucker Avenue due to the construction of the College of Nursing and Public Health Excellence (CON-PHE) building. The closure period has been extended by an additional five weeks, and Tucker Avenue is now expected to remain closed until on or around Friday, October 27. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Tucker Avenue will remain completely closed between the entrance to the M-Dental Lot (North of Novitski Hall) and the west entrance to the NM Court of Appeals for the duration of the project.
  • Parking in the adjacent lots to the closure will not be affected.
  • To access parking for buildings located west of the Tucker closure (e.g. North Golf Course’s west lot, Children’s Psychiatric Center, the Pete & Nancy Domenici Hall/MIND facility, Family Practice, and Novitski Hall) use Lomas to Yale and/or University to Tucker.
  • To access parking for buildings located east of the Tucker closure (e.g. Bratton Hall/Law School, Court of Appeals, Health Sciences Center’s campus Domenici II and III) use Stanford Drive to Tucker.
  • Passengers using the G/Q and Redondo shuttles will need to allow for an extra 10 minutes of commute time, as the shuttle buses will detour around the Tucker closure via Lomas Blvd.
  • L, M and N permit/reserved holders are advised to allocate an additional 10 to 15 minutes for the detour around the Tucker closure.
