Limited Operations

Changes Effective Monday, Nov. 23, 2020

As many of you may know, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued new executive and public health orders, effective Monday, Nov. 16, that will have an impact on the currently limited operations available at UNM. As President Stokes has stated, our University remains committed to our original principles to protect the health of our faculty, staff, students, and all New Mexicans, continue our critical core missions of education, discovery, creation, and service, and protect our university for the long-term.

For these reasons, UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) will make the following temporary adjustments to services provided by our department. The changes will go into effect as of Monday, Nov. 23 and will remain in place until further notice. Please continue to check UNM PATS website and UNM’s COVID-19 website for any additional changes or updates.

PATS temporary changes in operations and services are as follows:

BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Effective Monday, November 23, the Business (aka parking) Office will only provide services on-line (closed to any in-person services). On-line services that include managing a parking account, appealing a citation, returning a permit, etc., are available on our website at pats.unm.edu. Additionally, you can call and leave a voice mail message at (505) 277-1938 or send an email to parktran@unm.edu as staff will be monitoring both modes of communication during regular business hours (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday).

PARKING ENFORCEMENT

Effective Monday, November 23, enforcement hours will be reduced to 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
North Campus – Enforcement activities will continue as usual, e.g. enforcement of permit and pay station parking spaces as well as any parking spaces restricted by signage (e.g. Reserved, ADA, Patient, Fire Lanes, No Parking, barricaded, etc.).
Main and South Campuses (including the Science and Technology Park, Lobo Village and Lobo Rainforest) - Enforcement activities will be focused primarily on parking spaces and areas restricted by signage, e.g. ADA, Reserved, Fire Lanes, No Parking, Patient, Visitor, barricaded, etc.

SHUTTLE SERVICE

Effective Monday, November 23, shuttle services will reduce the number of buses operating at any given time on the Main, North and South campuses. Please check PATS’ website (pats.unm.edu) for up-to-date shuttle service hours, which currently are 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. (NOTE: hours of operation may change!) Remember to use “Where’s My Bus” and select “T/Rainforest”, “North Campus” and/or “South/Main Campus” on UNM’s Lobo Mobile app to track the bus(-es) in real time or call/leave a message for PATS’ Transportation office at (505) 277-0850 between 7:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday for information.

Please continue to check UNM’s COVID-19 website and PATS’ website (pats.unm.edu) for up-to-date information on the University’s decisions affecting the campus and consequently PATS’ operations and services. We thank you for your cooperation during this challenging time.
