Please keep in mind that it is prohibited to use University funds for any type of personal benefit, including paying for employee parking or parking citations/fines. For more information on "Allowable & Unallowable Expenditures," please refer to University Administrative Policy 4000, section 6. Park at your own risk! Read the full parking liability waiver.

PATS offers UNM schools, colleges, and departments four types of scratcher parking permits:

  1. Daily/Weekly Guest Permits are to be utilized by visiting lecturers or speakers contributing to the mission of The University without financial compensation. Guest permits are sold in bulk at reduced rates to UNM departments for daily or weekly use. Guest permits may NOT be issued to any paid staff, faculty, student, vendor, or contractor. Resale of guest permits are strictly forbidden.
  2. Daily Resale Permits are for paid staff, faculty, student, vendor, or contractor for parking in close proximity to the organization on a day-to-day basis not to exceed three (3) days per quarter. Daily resale permits are to be purchased from PATS directly at face value and may be resold to end users at the amount paid for the permit. UNM departments are NOT allowed to sell parking permits on campus to groups or individuals for a profit. All charges to any individual for parking must be reported and transferred to PATS.
  3. Weekly Resale Permits are for participants in conferences or workshops that charge registration fees or that are not purchased by Purchase Requisition (PR). Weekly resale permits are to be purchased from PATS directly at face value and may be resold to end users at the amount paid for the permit. UNM departments are NOT allowed to sell parking permits on campus to groups or individuals for a profit. All charges to any individual for parking must be reported and transferred to PATS.
