Bike Valet Program

Welcome to the UNM Bike and Scooter Valet!
A new, staffed, student-funded bike parking service — designed to make riding to campus easier, more convenient, and better supported than ever before.

Parking & Transportation Services (PATS), with funding from the Student Fee Review Board (SFRB), is launching a bike valet program on Central Campus for Academic Year 2025–26. This new service supports safer, more efficient campus travel while promoting sustainability, student well-being, and active transportation.

Funded by Student Fees, Operated by PATS.

How to use the bike valet:

  1. Bring your bicycle, scooter, e-bike or multimodal vehicle (MMV) during valet hours.
  2. Check in using your UNM LoboCard.
  3. Valet attendant(s) will issue you a claim tag and park your bicycle or scooter in our secured enclosure.
    1. While you're away, your bicycle or scooter stays secured.
  4. Pick up your bicycle or scooter by 5:45 P.M. – just present your claim tag to the attendant(s).

Bike, scooter, and MMV registration available. Ask attendants for additional information.

  1. To park at the UNM Bike Valet, your bicycle, scooter or multimodal vehicle (MMV) must be registered with UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS). Registration is free and can be done online in advance or onsite with a valet attendant(s).
  2. The UNM Bike Valet operates Monday-Friday, 7:45 A.M. to 6 P.M. All bicycles, scooters, and MMVs must be picked up daily by 5:45 P.M.
  3. The UNM Bike Valet enclosure will be locked overnight – Bikes, scooters, and MMVs left after hours will be stored until the next business day and may be subject to an overnight storage fee.
  4. You must present the claim tag provided at check-in to retrieve your bike, scooter or MMV. Lost your tag? You'll need to present your UNM LoboCard (or driver's license) to verify ownership.
  5. Do not leave high-value or personally sensitive items (such as backpacks, electronics, wallets, or ID cards) with your bike, scooter, or MMV. Helmets and water bottles may be left at your own risk. Only the bicycle, scooter or MMV itself may be checked in. UNM & PATS do not accept or safeguard personal belongings.
  6. Only authorized valet attendants may enter the valet enclosure. Customers are not permitted inside at any time.
  7. The valet enclosure has 24/7 video surveillance.
  8. The valet is designed for standard-sized, bicycles and scooters. Bicycles with trailers and MMVs will be accommodated, when possible. However, the valet reserves the right to deny parking for bikes, scooters or MMVs that do fit the system.
  9. Tipping is not allowed. Valet attendant(s) do not carry cash and will not accept gratuities.
  10. By using the UNM Bike Valet and accepting a valet claim ticket, you acknowledge and accept the following:
    • UNM & PATS are responsible for your bicycle, scooter or MMV only while it is in the direct care, custody, and control of a valet attendant (e.g. during active check-in and check-out handling).
    • Once your bike, scooter or MMV is parking in the enclosure or returned to you, UNM & PATS are not liable for any loss, theft or damage including damage caused by weather, third parties or overnight storage.
    • All bikes, scooters and MMVs are parked at the owner's risk.
Need parking outside valet hours? Use the existing bike racks located throughout The University as they remain available 24/7.
