Cornell Parking Structure Emergency Repairs

February 7, 2017 - PATS Admin

UNM Parking and Transportation Services (PATS) would like to inform the University community that UNM Physical Plant & Development (PPD) will be performing emergency repairs on a broken water pipe in the driveway entrance to the Cornell parking structure (Cornell). This emergency repair work will necessitate a temporary change in how vehicles can access Cornell.

Repair work is scheduled to start Sunday, February 5th and run through Thursday, February 9th (actual completion date is weather-dependent), and will require the short road leading to Cornell Structure to be blocked off. Access to/from Cornell will be made available through the creation of a temporary entrance that will be located immediately south of the current structure opening. Signage indicating temporary access point will be posted; please see attached map for details.

Because of the emergency repair work and the location of the temporary access point, there will be no parking, standing or stopping allowed along Redondo Drive between the Cornell Mall crosswalk (by the UNM Bookstore) and Stanford Blvd. The two handicapped parking spaces located at the entrance to the Cornell structure will be closed; handicapped parking spaces within the structure will remain open.

Cornell Structure Temporary Entrance

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience. The Visitor Booth located east of Cornell will remain fully staffed if you have questions about structure parking.

To ensure everyone’s safety, please use caution when in the area and be mindful of the workers that are on-site. Please call UNM PATS if you have any questions.

Thank you,
