Nightly Closure of Girard Blvd Entrance/Exit to “R” Zone Lots

Beginning the night of Friday, October 3, 2025, the access point from Girard Blvd to the "R" zone parking lots, located on the eastside of Alvarado, Ortega, Coronado, and Redondo Village, will be temporarily closed nightly from 10 P.M. - 6 A.M., until further notice. These closures will coincide with the current closures to central campus access points along Central Blvd and are a part of UNM's continued enhancement of safety measures on our campus. Here’s what you need to know:

Closure Information:

  • Entrances to "R" zone parking lots located along Girard Boulevard will be CLOSED nightly
    • Closure effective 10 P.M. to 6 A.M.
    • Barricades in place
  • View the Interactive Campus Map for affected area

Alternative Route:

  • "R" zone permit holders will still be able to access (enter/exit) these lots at the access point on East Redondo (southwest of Redondo Village, next to Johnson Field).
  • Members of the campus community will retain 24/7 access to central campus from Girard Blvd at Campus Blvd.
