High Traffic Advisory – 12.5 to 12.6.2025

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (UNM PATS) would like to notify the UNM community and our customers to expect HIGH TRAFFIC on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6 due to several special events. Here’s what you need to know:
Special Events:
- UNM’s Annual Hanging of the Greens – UNM Central Campus
- Friday, December 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- NM Ballet Company presents The Nutcracker – Popejoy Hall
- Saturday, December 6
- Show times at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Twinkle Light Parade – Nob Hill
- Saturday, December 6 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- UNM vs Santa Clara Basketball Game – The Pit
- Saturday, December 6 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Event Parking Options:
- UNM Shuttles will provide Park & Ride services from the T-lot on the southwest corner of Lomas Boulevard and University Boulevard to Twinkle Light Parade drop off location on the corner of Central Avenue & Girard Boulevard.
- G-lot near University Boulevard and Tucker Avenue to Popejoy Hall
- Shuttle services begin two hours before showtime and continue after the show ends (or until all customers are returned to their vehicles)
- Paid Parking locations nearby:

- Cornell Parking Structure – Zone 512
- GR/R/E Lot – Zone 520
- A-Zone Student Services – Zone 522
- Pay Stations

Traffic Congestion
- Redondo Drive East
- Congestion from Campus Boulevard to Princeton Drive
- Heavy Vehicle and Foot traffic around Johnson Field
Event Parking Not Permitted for:
- A/E-lot located near Girard Boulevard and Central Avenue, closed for Twinkle Light Parade
- R zones located around UNM Student Housing
PATS Enforcement staff will be on site to provide traffic and permit control.
