High-Traffic Advisory for UNM Main Campus
April 24, 2018 - PATS Admin
UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) would like to inform all faculty, staff, students, and visitors that the UNM main campus will experience heavy traffic Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29. Several special events are scheduled during this time period and could cause traffic congestion in the parking lots and on Redondo Drive along Johnson Field. The special events include but are not limited to:
• The 9th annual Native America Basketball Shootout in Johnson Center, April 27 – 29
• Albuquerque Youth Symphony concerts at Popejoy Hall show, April 29
• UNM Volleyball Grass Bash 2018 on Johnson Field, April 28 - 29
• Nizhoni Days Pow-Wow festivities on Johnson Field, April 29 from 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
R Zone Permit Holders
In order to minimize impact to resident parking, PATS enforcement officers will be doing permit control during peak times on Sunday in the “R” lot located at Central and Girard. If you have an R permit and have problems finding an “R” parking space on Sunday, there should be space available in the “R” lot on the NW corner of Central and Girard.
Please anticipate a higher than normal volume of traffic along Redondo Drive and around Johnson Center, and allow extra time for travel and parking on campus.
Contact PATS at 505-277-1938 or at parktran@unm.edu if you have any questions.
