Heavy Traffic Alert

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (UNMPATS) would like to inform all faculty, staff, students, and visitors that UNM’s central campus will experience heavy traffic Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1. Several special events are scheduled during this time period that could cause traffic congestion on Redondo Drive along Johnson Field and in the adjacent parking zones.
The special events include but are not limited to:
- The Native America Basketball Shootout in Johnson Center, April 29 – May 1
- Albuquerque Youth Symphony concerts at Popejoy Hall, May 1
- Nizhoni Days Pow-Wow festivities on Johnson Field, May 1 from 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
Remember that event parking is not allowed in the resident parking zones (R and S). Please anticipate a higher-than-normal volume of traffic along Redondo Drive and around Johnson Center, and allow extra time for travel and parking on campus.
