UNM student parking permit sales open soon for Academic Year 2021-2022 

 

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (UNM PATS) would like to remind students that if you plan to park a vehicle on UNM’s Albuquerque campus, you must purchase a parking permit from UNM Parking & Transportation Services or pay for hourly parking. 

 

Students may purchase a parking permit to park in specific lots/zones on UNM’s Albuquerque campus. Annual permits, or fall-only permits, are available for most lots. Please see the student parking page for more information and pricing. Parking permits for the Academic Year 2021-2022 (AY2021-2022) year (fall-only or annual) must be displayed effective Monday, Aug. 23. 

 

The AY2021-2022 student parking permits, including the Fall-Only permits, become available to purchase starting at 7:30 a.m. as follows: 

 

  • Resident permits* (aka dorm) – Thursday, July 29.  
  • Proximity permits* (includes Yale Structure) – Tuesday, Aug. 3  
  • Commuter permits – Thursday, Aug. 5 

 

* Parking permits in these categories may be subject to eligibility restrictions. 

 

Purchasing a permit 

Parking permits may be purchased online at pats.unm.edu or in-person at the PATS Business Office which is located on 2401 Redondo Dr. NE. Our office is open Mon. – Fri., 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

 

Due to limited availability, all permits are sold on a first come, first served basis.  

 

Most permits sell out quickly and you should plan to purchase your permit ASAP the day permit sales open for the zone you want. 

 

Get a head start by creating your parking account in the Parking Portal on the PATS website, (pats.unm.edu, “Manage My Account”), before permit sales open. 

 

To purchase a parking permit, you will need: 

  • LoboCard, if purchasing in person 
  • UNM NetID and Password, if purchasing online 
  • Vehicle make, model, and color 
  • Vehicle license plate number 
  • A form of payment – we accept Visa, Discover, American Express, Mastercard, UNM Bursar's transfer, check or cash**. 

 
**Cash or check payments are only accepted when purchasing a permit in person.
